Since its first release in 1962, Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz has celebrated the distinctive character of one of Australia's most revered wine regions. Sourced from the famed terra rossa soils of Coonawarra, this cool-climate Shiraz offers a graceful contrast to the richer, warmer-climate styles of the Penfolds collection, capturing the perfume, structure and depth unique to its origins. Bright strawberry red in the glass, it opens with fragrant aromas of cherry, strawberry compote and rosehip, complemented by hints of rhubarb, delicate florals and subtle exotic spice. Since its first release in 1959, Penfolds Bin 28 has stood as a benchmark for warm-climate Australian Shiraz. Originally sourced from the renowned Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley, it has evolved into a multi-region blend, with Barossa fruit continuing to provide the rich, generous character that defines this enduring classic. The 2024 vintage opens with layered aromas of black tea, pipe tobacco and worn leather, complemented by hints of Black Forest cake, dried fig and milk chocolate. The palate is bright and energetic, showcasing mulberry, boysenberry and raspberry alongside subtle savoury notes and a touch of vanilla spice. Juicy acidity and fine cocoa-dusted tannins bring structure and length, delivering a bold yet balanced Shiraz that drinks beautifully now or will reward careful cellaring through to 2045.

Often known as 'Baby Grange', Bin 389 was first created by legendary Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert in 1960, combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz. The 2022 vintage pays homage to that enduring style, opening with classic aromas of cigar box, mahogany, sweet oak spice, summer berries and fresh pastry. The palate is generous and deeply layered, with cool Cabernet fruit, plum, blackberry, mulberry and tart Morello cherry framed by cocoa-like tannins and subtle barrel-ferment notes.
